La Casa de Juan Ponce de León - This was the residence of Juan Ponce de León, the legendary Spanish conqueror. Today, the building has been converted into a museum where his two storey high stone statue pays tribute to the famous man.
Museo de las Casas Reales - One of the most visited museums in the island. See dozens of objects from the colonial era. Of particular interest are the Taino artifacts, hand-blown wine bottles, and an antique weapons collection of Trujillo, who reigned the island from 1930 to 1961.
Parque Nacional Del Este - The Park is a birdwatcher’s delight. See more than a hundred known species of bird and a variety of mammals. The rare Hispaniolan solenodon, exclusively found in the Dominicans is the most sought after.
